Haverhill, NH, was founded in 1763. The town has the three precincts of Woodsville, Haverhill Corner, and North Haverhill. The town also has the villages of East Haverhill, Center Haverhill, Pike, and Mountain Lakes. Woodsville became a railroad hub when the tracks were installed in 1853. Businesses and people built up the area with the addition of the railroad up. Because of newer trains that did not have to stop as often the traffic to Woodsville slowed. The tracks were pulled in 1997. The area had been established and continues to grow with the recent addition of a Wal-Mart in 2008.
